Description
-
- 2.5″ Rooted Start (with Domed Lid): A healthy, manually selected rooted cutting that arrives in a premium 2.5″ clear container. This variation features a clear dome lid equipped with an adjustable top air vent, creating a perfect high-humidity microclimate to support continuing root development and ease acclimation to your home environment.
- 4″ Established Plant: Arrives fully established and growing vigorously in a 4″ clear plastic nursery pot. This specialized container lets you observe root development and soil moisture at a glance, making it a high-utility favorite for professional and hobbyist collectors alike. Ideal for bright shelves, tabletops, or counter displays.
-
- Dynamic Shifting Foliage: Each new leaf emerges from the center center-stage in rich hues of blood-orange and copper, creating a multi-layered, sunset color display year-round.
- Compact Self-Heading Growth: Holds its own weight beautifully and grows upright rather than climbing or vining, making it exceptionally tidy and space-friendly.
- Foliage Viewing Container: Our premium clear nursery pots make it incredibly simple to track root health and avoid the pitfalls of overwatering.
- Family Selected: Every order is hand-picked directly by us to verify top-tier health, foliage fullness, and root structure before it leaves our shop.
-
- Sunlight: Prefers bright, indirect sunlight. Adequate indirect light is essential to bring out the most intense, fiery orange coloration, but shield it from harsh direct afternoon sun, which can instantly scorch its soft new leaves.
- Watering: Allow the top 1 to 2 inches of soil mix to dry out almost completely between waterings. Use your clear pot to visually check the root zone; if the lower substrate looks dark or damp, wait. When watering, drench thoroughly and ensure no water stands stagnant inside your outer cover tray.
- Humidity: Thrives best in moderate to high humidity environments (50% to 70%). For the 2.5″ Rooted Start variation, keep the top ventilation cap partially closed early on, adjusting it wider over two weeks to ease your young starter into your home’s natural room humidity levels.
- Temperature: Maintain a stable indoor temperature range between 65°F and 85°F. Avoid placing your plant near drafting windows, heavy air conditioner cycles, or hot radiators.
- Soil: Requires an incredibly loose, chunky, well-aerated potting medium. It grows best when top-dressed or planted in a customized aroid mix, such as our signature Dirtbags Handcrafted Soil Blend enhanced with perlite and orchid bark.
-
- Toxicity: Toxic to pets. Like all members of the aroid family, Philodendrons contain microscopic insoluble calcium oxalate crystals. If chewed, these can cause mild oral irritation, drooling, and swelling in pets. Because this plant stays relatively compact and grows upright, it is incredibly easy to display safely on high accent tables, plant stands, or shelving out of reach of curious cats and dogs.
-
- Arrive Alive Guarantee: Every living plant is a unique piece of nature! Rest assured, your selection is personally hand-picked to ensure optimal health and beauty, and it is fully backed by our comprehensive Arrive Alive Guarantee.
