The White Fusion is a highly specialized, unstable chimeric mutation selected from a species native to the ultra-humid tropical rainforest floors of South America. Because a large percentage of its leaves lack chlorophyll (the white parts), it has a significantly reduced ability to generate energy compared to standard green plants. This genetic trait is exactly what makes it a highly sensitive, slower-growing variety that requires precise environmental management.
